Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) and Wayman Flight Training have partnered to help local and international students earn college degrees and launch careers in aviation.

Embry Riddle is the premier aeronautical university in the United States. It has two residential campuses in Daytona Beach, FL and Prescott, AZ; and 130 worldwide locations. ERAU has made higher education in aviation their mission. Wayman Alfredo Luy, co-owner of Wayman Flight Training and ERAU alumnus from 1997 is excited about the possibilities.

The Miami based 141 Flight School has always been a South Florida outpost for Embry-Riddle graduates. Wayman Alfredo is an ATP pilot, and CFI/CFII/MEI and active alumnus participating regularly in local events and the Daytona Career Fair. At any given time there are several Embry-Riddle trained instructors working the flight line at Opa Locka Airport. It is a great opportunity for them to earn flight experience. International and local students have the benefit of CFIs with a rigorous in-depth of knowledge that comes from attending the prestigious university.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is known as the "Harvard of the Sky." It was originally founded in 1925 to training mechanics and pilots in the new field of aeronautics. ERAU now offers over 70 degree including Masters and PhDs. Several NASA astronauts have graduated from the university. Its worldwide campus has over 130 locations including 2 in South Florida. The Miami International Airport location, on 36th street, is in the famous Crystal Palace. The Broward location is next to Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE).

South Florida is a huge hub for aviation which naturally draws a lot of current and former ERAU students to the area. That is why Embry-Riddle has 2 campuses and elected to identify a flight school partner in Miami. The collaboration will help student in 2 immediate ways.

erau-logo.jpg1) Easy College Credit Transfer for students that have earned their flight certificate and ratings with Wayman Flight Training. Students that have earned their Private, Instrument, Commercial, Multi-Engine, and/or CFI with Wayman can receive up to 37 credit towards the Aeronautics degree at Embry-Riddle. That is an entire year off of the 4-year Bachelor of Science program and savings of thousands of dollars in tuition. ERAU also offers a 2 year Associates degree that will award transfer credits for Pilot's ratings as well.

2) Preferred Hiring for Flight Instructors that are current or former students of Embry-Riddle. The best way for aspiring pilots to earn flight experience is through flight instruction. You have truly mastered a subject when you can teach it. Wayman Aviation appreciates the rigorous and thorough training that ERAU graduates undergo. Wayman models many of its practices and procedures on Embry-Riddle standards.
